Good
girls can’t write (or draw or dance or sing)
Spirited women can!
Come harness your Good Girl into productive creative servitude,
and free the high-spirited woman within you to create. The act of
creativity really is a spiritual pursuit, which can be learned.
We’ll stalk our good girls, create a report card to harness
our good girls in service of our creativity. We will identify our
unique creative DNA—how each of us most successfully approaches
the creative process. We’ll strengthen the links to our muse,
and learn how to seduce our muse—and what to do until they
arrive. And we’ll leave with tools and support to help us
get that novel written, that aria composed, that dance choreographed.
We’ll get our creative artists up off their casting couches
and out on center stage, performing and producing!
Memoir and the New Media
We examine memoir as a literary genre, and also explore using digital
recording and voice-to-print software to both “write”
and "publish" memoir—producing both the oral and
the written manuscripts. The class, workshops several “chapters.”
We determine our optimal approach to memoir, and the technology
that supports each person's own natural creative approach most effectively--and
their end goal of distribution and publication. Research is presented
about current digital media (scanners to capture slides, negatives,
and photographs)—which can augment the memoir. Lecture and
workshop.
